PRACTICE POLICY

-The pool and deck will be closed during practices and meets to non-swim team swimmers. Baby pool is open to families with younger children.

-All Chenoweth Chargers are encouraged to attend each scheduled practice. Consistency and daily practice are essential for improvement. Note: If on vacation or at camp, the swimmer should give notice to a coach.

-Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated before, after, or during practice.  Please take care of all property in and around the pool area. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in the swimmer being told to leave the pool area. Coaches are not baby-sitters and practice is for the assigned practice time only. The coaches are not responsible for children who are at the pool during non-practice time.

-Water safety is our number one priority at the pool. Swimmers must stay out of the pool before each practice begins, especially when a lifeguard is not on the stand. Remind your swimmers to wait for coach instruction before jumping in the pool upon arrival.

-Swimmers 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

-Please note that according to Chenoweth Home Owners Association bylaws, after swim team practice concludes, any non-resident at the pool must be an invited guest of a present Chenoweth resident

-Parents –Our coaches are available to answer quesitons, you are welcome to make arrangements to discuss any questions or concerns you may have after practice or by email.

SWIM MEETS

Our swim meets are family events that offer an exciting environment for swimmers to learn, participate in fun competition, work toward personal goals, and feel the joy of being part of a supportive team. Parent Participation is strongly encouraged and very helpful in fulfilling your volunteer requirements.

Swimmers who are under 13 cannot be dropped off at meets. Our coaches are not available to watch or man a group of individuals. Pool rules state children under 13 need to be supervised by a parent or guardian 16 or older. Please find a friend, grandparent, family member or nanny who is able help or find a swim family to who is willing to help watch over your swimmers during our meets.

WEATHER POLICY

As long as there is no thunder or lightning AND we are able to see the bottom of the pool, we will have practice as normal. In the event that one of these occurrences happens while kids are at the pool, the pool will be cleared and depending on the severity, we will wait 30 minutes before returning to the pool (if time permits). *If the weather looks unstable prior to the start of practice, we will send out communication to let you know to that practice is canceled for the day.
